We Are Safe In The Arms Of Jesus!

This video from CNN shows a little of what is going on here in Bolivia. Things are pretty tense.

But...we are just as safe and secure in the arms of Jesus as when we are on a beach vacation. God is in control, even when circumstances don't seem to point to it. Isn't it funny how we think we see God when life is good, but think He is confused when life isn't? (just a thought).

We are safe. We are staying in our home, behind our walls (by the way, watch the video at the end of this blog and pray a huge concrete wall of protection with razor wire on top of it). There is no immenient danger poised to us. We do appreciate your prayers, especially since IF EVACUATION WAS ORDERED, we could not go because we are still waiting for little Mercy to show up (five days late and holding).

So, don't worry about us, but pray for us. Pray for Darlene and Shelly as they visit and experience missions first hand (I told them, "Welcome to the mission field"). Pray for us to wait in faith and trust Jesus. Pray for Bolivia. Pray that people would come to know Christ through this. Pray for open doors because of the circumstances that Bolivians are facing...and our wisdom to see those doors and run right through them.

Pray for the leadership of the country, and our mission.

Just pray. :)

For those of you who are praying a 'hedge of protection', please upgrade....see below.

We are praying both for your safety (yes, concrete walls with razor wire) and sweet little Mercy's safe and timely arrival! Blessings to all,

Hey Joe,

You are all living out exactly what Jack preached on today! And, your whole family was prayed for in church today! We so appreciate your perspective by living out the truth! We love all of you and anticipate greatly the perfect timing of Mercy's arrival...we may wait, but He is never late! Does the new house have a bathtub for Denise?! Tell Shelly that she has to give Denise the traditional leg/foot massage and pedicure for Denise ;-) I heard that God already gave you a concrete wall!!! Does it have the wire around it too? The video was hilarious! Hugs all around, Kim & family

Hey - we are praying and I requested prayer at my blog too -
http://hope-n-grace.blogspot.com/

- I had NO idea what was going on there. We do not even have local tv coverage where we live and so we get our news mostly by checking the news sites on line and there is no mention of it at Fox News! I will be praying - both for the situation that is developing and for sweet Mercy's arrival! Sunshine

Oh wow - nothing like a video to give us a picture of life where you are right now. We are praying for God's protection for each of you, including little Mercy and her mom. Praying for your safety, peace of mind, and the decisions to be made by the mission too.

Hey Joe and family:

Just wanted you all to know that I'm praying. Our Worship team prayed for you all last night during our practice. My entire church in Central Illinois is praying for you.

Love to you all!

Hi Joe,

My name is John Holman, and I have been monitoring your blog and praying for you and you family for the past 6 months or so since I found you while playing around on google.com.

I keep meaning to write and introduce myself, and I think that now is the perfect time to send you all a note of encouragement and thanks for your faithfulness, and let you know that I am praying for your work and your safety.

Thank you for the reminder that calamity does not mean that absence of God or his attention.

Joe,
I love your statement about God being in control even when cricumstances dont seem like He is. I can totally relate with that with what our family is going through. Thanks for remomnding me of that today.I have been saying to everyone. We arent in control anyway we may as well give things over to God. BUT, we are in control of how we with deal with the circumstances we are in.

YOur family is in our prayers everyday.

Love the Thomas Family
